After a nationwide search to find some of the best homemade recipes, Flora Cuisine is proud to announce the first cookbook created by mums, for mums (and dads too).

Hundreds of recipes from mums and dads up and down the country were submitted through the hugely popular Flora Hearts Facebook page, and the judging team are pleased to announce that an entry by Deb Bloor from Bedminster, Bristol is one of the top dishes received.  The entries were whittled down to 30 winning recipes by celebrity chef and Flora Cuisine ambassador Jean-Christophe Novelli and the Flora Cuisine team.

Deb’s dish, ‘Jamaican Goat Curry’ impressed Jean-Christophe Novelli and the other Flora Cuisine judges so much because of its originality, ease of preparation, taste and appearance.  It will now be published in the first ever recipe book of its kind, available now to download from www.flora.com.

Deb, said; “I like trying new cuisines from around the world and absolutely loved Jamaican goat curry when I tried it in a restaurant.  I was so inspired that I decided to find a recipe to make it myself at home, and it developed from there.  I’m pleased to hear Jean-Christophe liked it, I’m looking forward to seeing it in print now!”

Speaking of the competition, Jean-Christophe said; “It was a privilege to judge this nationwide competition, and see first hand just how much cooking talent and skill there is out there! Deb’s Jamaican Goat Curry was utterly delicious – the perfect family dish.

“Research conducted earlier in the year by Flora Cuisine revealed that that 34%* of mums cook triple dinners and a staggering 63%* of mums in the UK own recipe books they never use. This really got us thinking and essentially inspired the Flora Cuisine team to create a book of some of the recipes we received through the Flora Hearts page that were easy to prepare and delicious. Most importantly we wanted to created a book that wouldn’t gather dust!”

Brand manager of Flora Cuisine, Alessandra Sega said “We’ve been so overwhelmed by the fantastic response to this campaign. It’s been such a treat to try out hundreds of superb recipes from families all over the country, and combine the best to form one master cookbook to tickle all taste buds!”
