40 Alfred Place, the pop-up restaurant venue, is once again home to Jo Phillips and her foodie friends on Friday, July 5th and Saturday, July 6th. This time they are on a mission to bring you an “All American” dining experience, serving up a Yankee menu over the 2 evenings following American Independence day.
Following the success of the sell-out “Welsh-themed” Daffodil Supper Club on St David’s Day that raised in excess of £1,500 for Alzheimer’s Research UK, Jo plans to “re-run the fun” and every penny of profit will go directly to the same charity. With the help of local legends such as Ben from Meat and Bread and Danielle Coombs of The Bishopston Supper Club, you are assured a good feed. The menu for the weekend will be the following (or very similar):
A complimentary glass of wine / bottle of Budweiser / Non-alcoholic milkshake
On tables: Nachos and salsa, jalapenos and sour cream dip
Starter: Sweetcorn fritters
Main: Slow cooked pulled pork/homemade coleslaw/spicy sweet potato and potato wedges
(Vegetarian alternative of spicy beanburger)
Dessert: New York style baked cheesecake
Tea/coffee and salted caramel popcorn
To reserve your space you will need to pay a deposit of £15 at Jo’s dedicated JustGiving page – click here to reserve your space.
Diners will also pay a further £10 in cash on the evening. The event will have a bar with reasonably priced drinks or you can pay a £2 per head corkage fee if your taste is more niche. If you require any further information you can email Jo at email@example.com and you can take a look at her baking and making obsession on her blog, Stealing Good Design.
