Bristol’s Jonray and Peter Sanchez-Iglesias of Casamia have joined with Michelin-starred restaurant Galvin at Windows and a number of other recognised chefs to organise a Valentine’s Day auction with all proceeds going towards helping a group of disadvantaged young people.

On behalf of Galvin’s Chance, an inspirational into-work programme for young people, Jonray & Peter, Raymond Blanc, Eric Lanlard, Jose Pizzarro and Michel Roux Jr to name but a few have created bespoke chocolate boxes using ingredients donated by prestigious French chocolate company, Valrhona to be sold off during a 10 day online auction.

Peter comments, “We are very proud to be a part of this great initiative organised by Chris Galvin and Fred Sirleix. They are great guys and the charity is something very close to our hearts. We also enjoy a bit of healthy competition and intend to create the best chocolates in the auction!!”

Jonray comments, “Giving young people a chance and guiding them into employment is something that both Peter and I are very passionate about. We know ourselves that as a teenager it’s difficult to find something to be passionate about and through providing guidance, support and discipline for our chefs both in Casamia and in our Academy we have seen amazing transformations.”

The money raised from the Valentine’s Day Chocolate Box auction will fund future Galvin’s Chance programmes, offering more young people the opportunity to turn their lives around.

Chris Galvin and Fred Sirieix comment, “Galvin’s Chance is amazing because it is about the industry giving a chance to young people. We believe success is contextual and so if you give people guidance, opportunities and support, they will succeed and that is why we do it”.

From 26th January a 10 day online auction will be held for anyone to bid on the luxury chocolate boxes for their loved ones to receive on Valentine’s Day. The auction will not only provide the perfect gift but will help sustain Galvin’s Chance; an inspirational ‘into work’ programme for disadvantaged young people aged 18-24.
