**Please note – this kit was gifted by TeaJoy, but all opinions are my own**
It’s never been easier to make your own bubble tea at home with these bubble tea kits from TeaJoy.
TeaJoy primarily supplies bubble tea products to well-known names like Black Sheep Coffee, Rosa’s Thai and Primark Cafes, but having made a name for themselves in the hospitality sector, they launched direct-to-consumer bubble tea products last year: including three different bubble tea kits.
Choose from a milk tea kit, a matcha kit or a fruit tea kit, with each one including everything you need to make bubble tea at home. The fruit and milk tea kits retail at £13.49 each, while the matcha kit costs £13.99 – and with each kit making four drinks, that’s £3.50 or under per beverage, depending on which kit you choose.
I received the fruit tea kit to try: two mango fruit teas with passionfruit popping boba and two passionfruit fruit teas with strawberry popping boba.
What’s inside the TeaJoy Fruit Tea Kit?
My first impressions of this TeaJoy bubble tea kit were good. The box was small enough to fit through my letterbox, and the colourful packaging features imagery that gives you an idea of what to expect inside.
On opening the box, I was greeted with four sachets of fruit syrup, four sachets of popping boba, four straws plus instructions for making the drinks. All you need to add is a glass, water and ice – no specialist equipment or ingredients required!
I think this is a lovely idea for a gift. The box is nicely presented and its letterbox-friendly size means no need to worry about the recipient needing to be at home when it arrives.
How easy is it to use the TeaJoy bubble tea kits?
Super simple! The instructions are straightforward (although it’s slightly odd how they read from bottom to top, rather from top to bottom), and making each drink only takes a couple of minutes.
You simply need to add the syrup to a glass, mix thoroughly with 300ml of cold water, drain and add the popping boba, then top with ice. Unwrap the straw, and your bubble tea is ready to drink.
I found the process very quick and easy, and the individually packaged servings make it easy to make a single drink at a time without waste.
How does TeaJoy bubble tea taste…?
The most important question! And the simple answer is that they tasted great. The fruit flavours were pretty authentic, and both combinations were deliciously refreshing. The mango and passionfruit combo was my favourite of the two, but both were very enjoyable.
Of course, these fruit teas were sweet, but not TOO sweet for my palate. I did find that using slightly less water yielded a better result for me personally, as I prefer a stronger fruit tea flavour. However, they were still delicious when made with the recommended 300ml of water, so it may simply be a case of adjusting the quantities to suit your own tastes.
I was also impressed by how well the popping boba travelled without bursting in transit, remaining intact to deliver that lovely pop of flavour when you bite down on them.
Are TeaJoy bubble tea kits worth buying?
Nicely packaged, quick and easy to make and deliciously refreshing, I really enjoyed this bubble tea kit from TeaJoy. With four drinks in each kit, it’s a convenient way to enjoy bubble tea at home without having to buy multiple ingredients separately (or having to worry about using them before they’re past their best!)
Whether you’re a fan of bubble tea yourself or you’re looking for a gift for someone who loves it, TeaJoy’s bubble tea kits are a fun and convenient option. Discover the full range on their website.
