Warrens Bakery Ploughman's Pasty

If you’re planning a picnic this summer, head to Warrens Bakery’s Bristol store, which you’ll find on the High Street in the city centre. They’ve introduced a brand new range of pasties and sweet treats this summer, which are ideal to eat on days out over the holiday period.

The team have launched two brand new pasties, namely the Ploughman’s Pasty and the vegetarian Picnic Pasty.

The Ploughman’s Pasty is brimming with ham, cheese and pickle, designed to be eaten either hot or cold. It’s so good, apparently, that HRH The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall were among the very first people to try it at Taste of the West’s Food Fair on the Green in Exeter.

The Picnic Pasty is packed with grilled vegetables, sundried tomatoes and creamy mozzarella.

There’s plenty more in their new ‘Perfect Picnic’ range too. Alongside a new Sundried Tomato Focaccia with Red Onion, Rocket and Melted Cheese are six new classic cakes. There’s a melt in the mouth classic Strawberry Jam Tart or the soft buttery Viennese Whirl sandwiched with cream and jam. You can also choose between a traditional Egg Custard Tart finished with nutmeg, or Fresh Fruit Tarts filled with custard and topped with fresh fruit.

Add to this the creation of pretty pink and yellow teatime Flower Fancies, guaranteed to keep the little ones quiet for a moment or two, and a refreshing mini Lemon Meringue Pie with a tangy citrus filling and moreish meringue, and you’ll see that there’s plenty to choose from!

We’ve teamed up with Warrens Bakery to offer one lucky winner a ‘Perfect Picnic’ jute bag containing five Ploughman’s Pasties and 5 Picnic Pasties.

The prize will be sent directly from head office to the winner’s house – unbaked, so that all the winner needs to do is to cook their pasties at home before taking them out for a summer excursion!

To enter, all you need to do is to follow both Bristol Bites and Warrens Bakery on Twitter, and retweet the following tweet. The competition will close at midnight on Friday, August 19th – I’ll then contact the winner for their details so the pasties can be delivered straight to their door. Good luck!
