Love Food Festival is back for an autumnal extravaganza celebrating the turn of the seasons and everything delicious that comes with it.

It’s the day before Halloween, so you’ll find plenty of spooky goings on, including pumpkin carving, creepy crafts and the Love Food Festival annual children’s fancy dress competition.

The demo kitchen will celebrate autumn with local chefs and experts providing inspiration for how to cook, preserve and enjoy this season’s abundant produce.

The indoor market will reflect the season of plenty, with everything you need for the week’s food shop including fresh fish, grass-fed meats, fresh vegetables, cheeses, fresh bread, jams, chutneys and a few gift ideas to boot. You’ll also be able to enjoy a hot mulled cider as you wander round the market.

Outside in the courtyard visitors will find a street food line-up that includes seasonal, vegan delights from Beyond the Kale, stew and scones from Scoff and Relish, Vietnamese treats from Viet Vite, flatbreads from Persian Kitchen and churros from Churros Ole. The soundtrack will be provided by Love Food and St Nick’s Night Market resident ‘DJ Rowley’.

There will also be a beautiful seasonal mandala outside in the courtyard and plenty of activities for the young ones. These include Day of the Dead arts and crafts, garlic planting to keep the vampires at bay and the Love Food tuck shop, where children will be encouraged to make something delicious and healthy to sell in the tuck shop. All proceeds will go to Magic Breakfast – a charity that provides breakfasts to fuel learning for those that need it. Keep your eyes peeled for Wilf Keys too, who will be performing his incredible magic show throughout the day.
